Perfection can wait, your brand and clients can't

You know what’s bolder than waiting for a perfect leaflet? Pressing “print” and letting it strut its stuff out in the wild.
One thing I learned from my time at marketing super giant, L'Oreal, was to launch, launch, launch.
Too many great ideas live and die in the land of “just one more tweak.” You stare at the colours, the wording, the headline. You move a comma. Then move it back. All the while, your audience is out there, unaware you even exist.
The L'Oreal style of get it out there has made them be pretty successful.
Keeping that website hidden or that leaflet looked away, isn't doing anything for you, your brand or getting clients.

I’ve seen this happen so many times with clients. They have brilliant ideas, beautiful words, striking visuals… and then they freeze. The fear of success? visibility? difference? gets to them. It scares them.
And yes, it can be scary. Your product or service is out there and being will judge it. Because they will.
But the point of being is to say, "OK'" and move on. Because what people really need is....
Confidence, faith in themselves, and permission. Permission to say this is good enough right now and to let it fly. Because I know from over 25 years of marketing experience, what you see in the shops isn't what was on the drawing board. It has been tweaked, changed but also it has been launched.
Here is the truth - keep reading...
Because here’s the truth: your brand is a living, breathing thing.
It will grow, shift, and reinvent itself over time.
Like you.
You were not the same last year, let alone 20 years ago.
Which means your marketing materials will always evolve too.
They’re not precious relics carved in marble.
They’re conversation starters, designed to be shared, tested, and yes, can be changed over and over again.
Holding back because you think it’s not “ready” is like refusing to open your shop until you’ve alphabetised every single pen.
People can’t respond to what they can’t see.
Maybe the pen display is good fun to catalogue like that but honestly it smacks of you being ashamed of yourself and your brand.
Yes, strong words but we are at a point that you need to believe in yourself and your brand, service or product.
So here's your gentle guide or shove to get on it
Design it
Good enough is good enough to be shipped!
Print or social media it
No more of this "final, Final - final, final v4, final final yes I am sure this is the FINAL ONE"
Put it in hands
Let people see it, hold it, talk about it.
Then watch what happens.
You’ll get feedback.
You’ll spot tweaks.
You’ll make it better.
And because you’ve already launched, your words and ideas are working for you while you work on version two.

I promise, because of all those decades of doing launches, your audience isn’t looking for perfection.
They’re looking for connection.
And you can’t connect if you’re still tinkering behind closed doors.
Marketing materials aren’t museum pieces. They’re invitations. To connect, to laugh, to say we’re here, come join us.
